Kalani Towers (WW) Construction
« on: Oct 30, 2006, 04:00 »
Just thought I would let you know that WWB has semi-announced their additions for next season. They are adding a total of 6 slides in the complex. 2 will be 72-foot long twin free-fall slides, the other 6 will compose a 6-lane mat racer complex.
We have not received confirmation on whether or not the racers will be the original proracer model or the newer octopusracer model that has become popular as of late.

More information when it becomes available.

I'm guessing that this is the official announcement along with a rendering.

New in 2007,
White Water Adds
7-Story, 6-Slide Thrill Ride!

(Branson, Mo. 11-06)
New in 2007, White Water presents its biggest ride ever –
a 7-story, 6-slide, multi-experience thrill ride. Higher than White Water’s previous largest slide by over two stories, the new ride will be 75 feet high, with two 300-foot drop slides for top-speed body sliding and four additional 312-foot lane slides for four-lane speed racing.

The new $1.5 million ride adds more ways to glide and slide at Branson’s Beach Within Reach -- with nearly 7,000 feet of slides and 12 rides and attractions for the ultimate summer splashdown experience.
With two million gallons of cool, water-drenched indulgence, White Water is an aquatic oasis where guests can swim, surf, splash and slide in water-cooled comfort. Ride lovers will find plenty of fast-paced rides from the new slides to the white-water rapids of the Caribbean Plunge and Tropical Twister. Surf enthusiasts can ride on tubes or bodysurf the breaking waves of the 500,000-gallon wave pool, and leisure floaters can drift with the current of the Lazy River. Families play together in the super-soaked RainTree Island, while kids rule at Splash Island and Little Squirts' Waterworks.

For the ultimate in poolside comfort, Cool Cabanas are available for rent, enclosed on two sides with televisions, fans and seating, for semi-private gatherings for up to 8 people. Free life jackets and tubes, and a full staff of certified lifeguards are always on hand.

They are changing the name.  According to Martha (Sr. PR for HFEC) they have yet to determine what the final new name will be

It is intresting that they tore out their newest slides for this new attraction. Raging River Rapids was installed new for the 2003 season and they tore it out for this new slide complex. I wonder if they tore these apart, or sold them.

Chris is confused -- maybe photos will help

Photo 1 shows what the site looks like now and is labeled where Ragin' River Rapids is
Photo 2 shows the slide that was removed - Paradise Falls
Photo 3 shows the park map and the circled region is what was removed and where the construction is

Slide parts for the racing slide have arrived.  Also they have the foundations for the two towers ready -- note how much closer they are to Ragin' River Rapids than Paradise Falls was.

Thanks Robby.  We (read I) was ready for a change.  I had been using that layout for about 2 years and thought it was time to refresh things a little.

The slides are almost finished -- each slide has only one section left to be installed.

The speeds slides are insane.  The first trip down is absolutely frightening.

The racer slides are a blast as well.  Just watch your junk on the landing after the 2nd hump.  nutkick :hello:

I second all that, especially the junk protection!

Rode the new slides again on Wednesday, you get a lot of airtime on the second hill of the Tower Racers.  The Speed Slides are fun, but really scare me when I first shove off.  That water yanks you down fast.
