« on: Sep 14, 2009, 05:09 »
I'll be flying back to good 'ole Kansas City on the 8th. Let me know if you are interested in meeting up for a night of fun and chills at Haunt on the 9th of October. As well as I'll FINALLY ride Prowler in total darkness for the first time! Post if your interested in meeting up. Closer to the date we can pick a meet spot and and time. I'm pretty sure it'll be out front of the entrance gate at 6 though.

I'll be at the park almost all day on Saturday so wanna meet up and do a few rides, catch the Overlord, then do some houses? The only thing I know that is definet for Saturday and Friday is I'm doing Asylum Island. Wanna see it both days for some reason and it looks sounds good in your review you wrote on Haunt. But ya Swoosh if you wanna meet up on Sat. for a bit let me know.

By the way I'm probably only gonna be able to stay until 10:45-11 each night that I go just to give everyone the heads up.

I have no idea when we'll get there.  I have a marching competition in the morning and as soon as we can get away from that we'll be on our way to WOF.

Sounds like it'll be the three of us (Me, Missy and Derrijk).
I'll have to do a "wait and see" on the meeting up.  I'll let you know later this week

I won't be able to meet up at 6, but we are planning on going on Friday.  Leaving work at 5 on a Friday and trying to get to that part of town by 6 is either a cakewalk, or a nightmare.  As it is we would need to go home first and let out the dog and eat.  It will probably be closer to 7, if not 8 before we will make it out there.  PM me your cell and I can text you when we get there if you want.

Sounds good Robby. I'll add you to the list as maybe going on Friday. The meetup time I figured would be at like 5:45-6 for those interested in riding Patriot and Prowler. If you can make it later PM me your cell number or let me know in the thread you cant make it until like I dont know 7-8 later and I'll give you my cell number.

Well last night was fun! We all did Asylum and Doll Factory together and I said "Now I'm the jumpy type I will most likely jump at a lot of scares" sure enough I jumped a lot in Asylum! But last night was a great night and I can see this meetup happening again next year for Haunt in 2010.

If anyone is up there tonight you need to hook up with Prowler182.  It's fun to watch him jump.

This was my first night checking out the Haunts this year and it seems as if all of them have improved.  I got a jump or two out of each of them and two good one's in Dominion.  I really liked Lore.  They got my several times.

There was a surprise visitor.  Evan from GCI popped in to check out Prowler.  We joined him for his first rides and we're pretty sure that he liked it. :angel4:

^Yea you missed it tonight, I went through some houses by myself tonight and caught every scare especially in Camp! Those guys were on fire despite the cold temperature last night. I'm also pleased to say I FINALLY rode Prowler at night and had an awesome ride. That is one incredible ride at night and brings it to a whole new level because you can see the track coming somewhat but it's still an awesome ride. I want to thank any monsters on this board because you guys did an awesome job putting on Haunt this year. I loved every house but when it came down to it I picked Asylum as my favorite this year. Great scares thoughout the entire house!

Wind sure was playing havoc last night with the fog.

Some of my personal thoughts on last night's haunt.

Seems that a lot of screamsters have already quit because they got "cold" Friday night - that's why there were several empty areas in a few of the houses -- this was coming from a yellow shirt

DOLL FACTORY: WOW where did this talent come from?  They were spot on last night delivering some very good scares.  Considering this was probably my least favorite indoor haunt last year, kudos for turning it around.  Very nice job and my favorite of the night.

CAMP: For some reason this haunt just doesn't do it for me.  I was optimistic after the first two scenes where we did get a couple of jumps from our group, but it went down hill fast after that.  Lack of fog due to the wind didn't help, but I felt that the talent just wasn't on.  Maybe they worked it out later in the evening, but it just wasn't there when we went through.

ASYLUM: Rather empty tonight.  Some of the talent was trying hard to make up for the lack of cast, but it was a shell of itself on VIP night.  Still my favorite haunt at Worlds of Fun though even with a lack luster trip through it tonight.  This haunt just has to have people in it -- especially in the marquee rooms like the padded room and the the twisted spleen among others.

'SHED: longest line of the night due to the fact they were barely letting anyone in.  Talent was fine, just never have liked this house that much.  I think it might be the theme, not sure.  I got a few jumps in our group but the talent seemed to be "trying to hard" if you know what I mean.  Lack of fog outside (again due to the wind) hurt the screamsters that were out there from being able to get a good scare.  Is the pig in the table working?  It didn't move while we were in there.

LORE/CB:  I think the talent was getting tired by the time we went through.  Upstairs they got a good jump out of me with one guy hiding in between scenes in the dark.  Totally got me - very effective.  There were way too many vamps just sort of "hanging out" though upstairs and not really trying imho.  I thought the hanging out was supposed to happen downstairs not upstairs.  Now onto downstairs -- love Club Blood.  I wish they could make the subway train more convincing.  Can they make the light look like it is coming towards you while going down the tunnel?  I still think the bar tender needs to learn to do flare -- would help so much.  The actual dance area was too crowded with vampires when we went through.  Can you guys space yourselves out so that there are people in other parts of the club?  Still love that last room. :)

DOMINION: Wow, what a turnaround from last year.  Apparently you guys went to scare school because even with the fog being less than it should be due to the wind your misdirection scares were spot on.  Very good this year... and to think I wanted this to be replaced this year with a new theme.  Nope, I want this back next year with the same talent.

FZ: The fog was great in some sections and not so much in others.  Need to play to your advantage where it is thick and hide there.  Hiding in the open won't really work too much.  The slider near Doll House and the exit was spot on and got lots of good screams from guests.

OUTLAW:  Ugh, this one is so bad.  I'm not sure what you can do with it.  The talent tries, but they just don't have anything to work with there.  More hiding spots maybe?  I don't know what could be done here to improve it.

CARNEVIL: I think there is way too much light in this area.  The talent is trying, but it is hard to hide with that much light everywhere.

Meh, it was alright...

Just kidding. I loved it. It was interesting for my first rides to be at night with a lot of fog. Though I know the layout like the back of my hand, it was still surprising.

Next time I head in that direction, I'll have to pick a warmer weekend. I hate to admit it, but the temperature soured my first visit to that park, though it looks like I could have really enjoyed it otherwise.

It was nice to meet everyone that I did, though. I just need to work on matching faces to names to usernames...

Glad to hear you liked the ride Evan!

I'm with ya on picking a warmer weekend to, that coldness that was in the area this weekend was ridiculous.

I believe I saw you there but not sure. Wish I could have said hey but I had to get going from the park. Maybe I'll catch ya riding Prowler some other time!
