Toverland - 5-24-10
« on: May 26, 2010, 08:42 »
The wife and I are on our European vacation and our first stop was Toverland.

It was just a quick stop and mainly to ride Troy.  It's probably my 2nd favorite GCI.  We rode it in the front and again in the back and I was out of breath both times.  The only other ride that does that to me is Voyage.  It's drop isn't as spectacular has I had imagined.  Being so much taller than Prowler and just as twisty I thought that would be better.  Very comparable.  The rest of the ride is like many of their others but on steroids.

Motobike was fun.  We rode twice in front.  It would make a great family ride in just about any park.

The rest of the park was really cute (can I say that).  Great rides and a great atmosphere.

The only down side was the injuries that Janessa and I sustained on their obstacle course.  Luckily we're both going to live.

Next up is Phantasialand on Friday.

I'll post some photos latter.

Any chance you will be getting to Expedition GeForce?

Expedition GeForce is on the list but it's been down for several weeks now due to a derailing.

Here's a link to the few photos I took.

After taking a beating on the obstacle course we decided to haul ass.  I'll be sure to take my time at Phantasialand tomorrow.

Both were a lot of fun.  Troy has stood out amongst the best in Germany so far.

Since then we've hit Wild-und Freizeitpark, which was a bonus that we spotted while site seeing.  It's little coaster was a lot of fun.   http://www.klotti.de/englversion.html

Then Phantasialand.  It was well themed a but without Black Mamba it's not much of a ride park.  They have a crazy drop tower that shots up and drops and it's Intamin.  It's also built into a castle.  I've never seen anything like it but it's a good time.

Holiday Park was a major let down due to Expedition GeForce being down.  The rest of the park is decent and they have a crazy swing ride.  I just about pooped.  It's 260' tall.

The Intamin drop tower was nice and intense.

Today was Europa Park.  It was the most impressive overall.  it's a total Disney rip off.  There are dark rides that are very similar to several of the rides at Disney and there's a huge Epcot Ball.  Silver Star was a top notch B&M hyper.  People have complained about the trims but they didn't seem to take away from the ride.  It had a lot of positive g's and air time.  There's also a wicked s-turn at the end of the ride.  Blue Fire was a ton of fun.  The launch is powerful and you get flipped around like crazy in the inversions.

We only have one park left.  So far Troy, Black Mamba, Silver Star and Blue Fire have stood out.  Dark rides have also stood out.  They're everywhere and most are really cheesy.

New rule.  If given a chance to ride an alpine coaster, take it.  It ranks as one of the coolest coaster experiences I've had.

Thumbs up for alpine coasters!

I think we could use some of those extreme chair swings here in the states.
