That is a mega sweet pic!  I can't exactly tell where the tivoli gardens were supposed to be though.  Can you give a description of the present day location?

P.S.  I thought it might also be worth noting that the same artist drew the 1973 park map.

It took me awhile to dig up and write all the history!

More will be coming, my next update will look at the first few years when the world was new.

Anyone notice the picnic area down by the Kamikaze Kurve in the last photo? Interesting place to eat.

The park looks so full and lush; quite beautiful. Was this another balloon launching day?

I remember the picnic area, in fact until a few years ago they used to let people go down there.  Several years ago I got a pretty neat photo looking up at the track with the train running over it.  Its still there sort of, the steps leading down to it were fenced off (they are over by the parking lot bathroom) a few years ago.  I think it was closed off right after the Express accident.
