Well to add fuel to the fire. KD announced they are adding a Windseeker next year too.
The original order for Windseekers was for 5. We're at 6 now.

Forgot to mention this but way back in July I was at OOF and while waiting in line for the boat ride a life guard told me that it will be the rides last season due to the cost of replacing oars and fixing the boats. It got me thinking. Where the lake sits it would be a perfect place to add another pool complex with a bunch of proslide slides.

Not that I'm clinging to the boat ride, but since when do oars and boats that have virtually no collisions with other objects cost so much to repair/replace?

OoF is way past overdue for some new stuff though, I dunno how they've gone nearly a decade without an addition with all the competition that's opened up in that timespan. I haven't bothered to go there the past few years, how is attendance doing there?

Also, finally a hint from the blog! Hopefully he's not just teasing us. If we do get a WindSeeker, do you think it might be able to fit in Bounce-a-Roo's spot? Speaking of Bounce, what was the reason for removing that? The kangaroos always looked so nice.

Roos needed a very expensive overhaul and with Planet Snoopy coming in, the ride was made obsolete.
It was no big loss. Sure wish they'd fix the bumper cars.

If I'm remembering right the life guard said something important about the boat supplier but its been too long ago for me to remember the exact details of the conversation.

They cannot drain that pool as it acts as the "tidal pool" for the park and for some of WOF, I believe.

I could'nt imagine Oceans of Fun being called Soak City. I mean, just imagine saying "Yep, heading out to Worlds of Fun and Soak City". It just would'nt fit.

Oceans of Fun already uses the Soak City logo. I would imagine that is as far as it will go with a rename

Anyone see the hint possibly in the Hot Air blog on Worlds of funs website? Here...

"Oh, and look at this. This is right up you guys' alley. We have fixed the ol' Fjord up so the arms swing like crazy. If you've ridden the ride lately you might have noticed the swing arms not swinging so much. Now, if anyone can figure out how to mount this to a 300 foot tower let me know."

Probably nothing unless WoF is getting a windseeker.

He responded to a blog comment asking about 2012 by stating that 2012 news won't come for awhile still. Dunno what to make of that, you'd think if it was a Windseeker, it would have been announced with the rest of the 'em.

I hope what's happening is that they are going to theme WoF's Windseeker to fit the area it's in instead of just plopping it down and calling it Windseeker and that's produced the delay.

I wouldn't get your hopes up. From what I am hearing, next year might just be a "general improvements" year. I am hoping that OoF at least gets a new slide or something.

I hate doing this but I have to agree. I posted a comment on Worlds of Fun's facebook page telling them it probably wasn't gonna happen, and now they are starting to think of me as a hater. I just know one thing, if they don't add a Windseeker, alot of people, and I mean ALOT of people are gonna be let down.

Oh and also quick question, is anybody attending the bobblehead thing at Wof, cause I'm going and thought it would be cool to see some of you there.

The way I look at it is Worlds of Fun cant win for losing. If they announce a thrill ride, they get pissed off moms talking about how they "Definitely won't be renewing their season passes", and if they announce a family addition, teens go complaining about how it's "Lame". If nothing is announced at all, they'll more than likely get complaining from both sides.

I guess that can go for any theme park in America cause lets face it we got some really dumb general public here.
