This is by far one of my favorite festivals at SDC.

That looks really neat.

I wish that SDC was in the plans for this summer.

You should join ACE and go to Coaster Christmas in Dec.

Nice update Dustijn.

When were you down there?

Last Friday.  Some of the photos are also from Media Day, which was the 6th.

I thought their media day was the same day as WOF opening day. April 8th.

It was.  Did not have a calendar in front of me when I made that post.  My bad.

We went the last weekend of World Fest on May 7th and they were completely slammed. I figured it was because it was the last weekend of World Fest? Anyone know if it is less busy any other weekends during that festival? I'd like to plan better for next year because we really missed out on a lot.  :sad11:

According to PR at SDC every single weekend was above projected numbers and that this year's World Fest was the most attended EVER of the World Fests that they have had.  If attendance figures keep on pace, they will make Dollywood's look puny (which will really get under Dukeis#1's skin).

Well that's good to hear their numbers were up so much.  I was starting to think I was over reacting about the crowds.  seeya
I wonder if it was the expansion that got so many more people to the park, if so I bet it's gonna be packed the rest of the season.

I honestly think the Moscow Circus and Zunayi Acrobats had a lot to do with it.  The BBQ fest going on right now is not as busy, but is still pulling in some large numbers -- it was really popular last season and that is why they expanded it to more weeks this season.

I would really like to get down there for that.  BBQ smells so good and there is nothing like a bunch of people cooking it all in one place.  :laughing4:

My favorite part of the BBQ festival is the BBQ sauce test tastin' booth.  Never seen so many sauces in one place in my life.

Yeah, we'll definitely try to get their for the BBQ fest. Being from KC , how could we stay away? Also, I'm a closet bluegrass junkie (well, I guess I'm not anymore) so I'd be a happy camper.  ddr

The shows are simply first-rate; the remind me of WoF's old shows.
