Turning Left As You Enter The Park???
« on: Apr 10, 2006, 03:24 »
Does anyone ever turn left when they enter the park?  I can't remember the last time that I did and if they added a new ride over in Scandi I would be totally lost.  I don't think that I'm even capable of turning left any more. :tard:

I actually usually do go left, and hit Zulu and BoomerPOS on the way back to Mamba. But now that Patriot is there, that could change.

The only time I've ever done that was last year at the Festival of Music when my orchestra was performing and we had to practice in one of the Tivoli picnic areas, lol.
...and the clocks were striking thirteen.

It really depends. If i'm in the mood for a coaster straight off. I head right to Spinning Dragons, but usually skip it when I see the line and head straight to Timber Wolf. Before.....I would hit up Rockin' Reeler first.

For me...and my no-coasters for the better part of the year, I get queesy looking at SD. So I start off with a flat. Last trip I hit Rockin' Reeler first for a final ride. :crybaby2: Then straight to Timber Wolf.

But then again, if it's warm enough in the morning, i'd go to VV. But meh.....back in October, I thought it would be fine to ride VV 4 times, and Fury twice, thinking I would dry off on Mamba.

Temperature: 40 Degrees

Saturation Level: Soaked

Wind Speed: 75 MPH

Not being able to feel mid course and final brake run on Mambadue to being numb: Priceless.

I always turn left, I usually go straight to the Mamba, then work my way to other rides from there.

Welcome aboard left turner.

I am one of those people that once I start doing it one way it's hard to change.  I'm going to make a great old person.

nothing wrong with heading straight for Mamba.  I think for at least the next few times I go the first ride's name will start with a P.  Any Ideas as to Which one I am talking about?

I rarely ever go left, I alaways go right so I can hit the coasters and thunderhawk before they get full of people.

I tend to go left (I'm righthanded), but only 'cause I've gotten used to doing so at SDC (going left means going down Hill St. rather than up at the end of the day) and because the water rides ('cept Thunderhawk) are to the left, and we always do those early then ride the coasters to dry off...

I usally Turn Right when I use the main gate at WOF. I have been doing this since 2000 since I quit heading to Mamba First when I use this entrance. I turn right so I could go the the Oreint Express first, even after they torn it down I could break that habbit. Now with Patriot being there I find it even harder to break that habbit.

Now if I use the back Ride and Slide Entrance to the park I would have to turn left as everything is to the left unless I want to ride Monsoon first.

Hasn't there been some sort of study done in regards to entering a large 'trade type of show' in most industries that says people instinctively go to the right when entering a large place, such as an amusement park?  Seems like I read that some where, with the point being to go left, against the normal flow, to save time.

At WOF, going left, is like goint to the back at CP and working forward to me.  I do that, and I am right-handed. :smileinbox:

Actually the best thing to do is go to the back of the park and work your way forward.  By lunch time the crowds will be in the back with the front rides being less visited.  This is especially true for BGE.  Go to Alpie first then work back.  Corkscrew Hill is always the busiest in the morning as it is the first thing that many come to (as is LNM).

What I didn't mention on my post is that the direction I turn depends on what park I'm going to and where the big rides are. In the case of SDC and CC. I always go to the left as that is where the big rides are. At CP I would go stright back, unless I am going to MF or Raptor then I would make a left at one of those spots, and as for SFStL I would go right to Batman the Ride.
