We left at 10 and it hadn't hailed yet.  There were some big ass rain drops that I thought was hail though.

Corn Stalkers seems to follow the same path and reuses a handful of props (giant spider, out houses....).  There's at least 2 buildings but maybe there.  I think that you only walk through the barn.  The path is a little tighter and feels like a corn maze most of the time.

The lines were actually fairly long.  I thought that the rain would have chased away more people.  Very few rides ever opened up and that probably contributed to the semi long haunt lines.

ZZtop most homecomings are done pretty early so I wouldn't count on that happening. I bet a lot people go there as a Post Dance hang out.

Or, won't affect anything and it will still be busy.  Most of the JoCo schools have homecoming next week and the week after. My point being, that I don't think it will have an impact either way. It's not like every school in the metro has homecoming this weekend.

Also, not sure about the schools you went to, but no more than 20% of students ever went dances at mine.  Granted, this was a school with 1800 total students.

How was it last night, did it rain?

I'm thinking about going the 9th hopefully avoiding a large crowd, doubt that will ever happen ha.

Anyone else check out the new haunt video of Cornstalkers?

Heres a mini review for the houses I went through on Saturday.

Asylum Island: Great as always, Good scares great scenes what more could you ask for? The only thing that annoyed me is the line, they really need to rope off a side on the bridge because people were " Accidentally" bugging in front of me.

Cornstalkers: One word to describe this haunt, AMAZING! I was afraid I was going to pick out flaws that didn't match a real farm but I couldn't find any. The detail in CS was great and the scares was pure frightening, it was almost like I was on a real farm ( gone bad that is ha). In my opinion this is the new best haunted house at Haunt, my vote is in for the poll Cornstalkers all the way.

Doll Factory: Not as good as last year. It almost seemed like it followed the same path as two years ago but that could be just me. Crowd control was absolutely horrible, I waited an hour to get in and then when I got to the outside section to get to the factory there was another line to get in. But all that aside the actors did do a good job scaring people.

Bloodshed: I wasn't expecting much out of the actors since I walked in about 12:30am but boy was I wrong. Every actor in there had so much energy it was almost like I walked in at 8pm. I have two complaints about this house one is the fog was so thick I couldn't see the scenery and two I was disappointed to find out that you don't walk outside any more making Bloodshed shorter. Another than that Bloodshed is still one of my top favorites at Haunt.

Fright Zone: Definitely not as good as last year. The Snoopy lights did add a cool effect but it really lacked in scares. I gotta ask what is up with the actors dressed as army men carrying around sniper rifles? All they did was sat to the side and pointed a laser at guest eyes, I say take the guns away and replace them with a shovel or a chainsaw.

Speaking of chainswas anyone else notice the lack of them this year? I only saw one and that was at Cornstalkers.

Overall Haunt is still the best place to get scared for a good price in KC. Planning on another trip on the 30th.

---EDIT---
Awesome photos Jason! And awesome video WoF! Both convinced me to go for a second round of Haunt, I should of bought a season pass this year its really starting to break the bank lol

That doesn't look like a regular construction stake.  Maybe it's for a water line or electric line.  Maybe their enhancing the front gate.

I am just wondering did anyone go to WoF tonight. If so how jam packed was the park tonight? I was seeing posts on their FaceBook page about the huge lines throughout the park there. I just know that 80 Degree weather + Halloween Haunt means it's gonna be packed for sure!

I was there working the train.  IT WAS NUTS! I havent seen a crowd that large since atleast Mamba.  All the lots were full all the way down to the end of K, cars were parked in K behind Prowlers turn around, they used every little bit of pavement. gravel that they could, the grass by Prowler was full of cars. the grass by the cell tower was full of cars, the grass by Patriot I heard also had parked cars.  And then there were also buses.

Mamba's line filled all the queues and flowed down to Coasters, women's bathrooms across the park and had 5-10 min lines, all the restaurants had lines as long as some rides usually.  Near nile there were 3 lines, Corn stalkers (that went past boomerang couldnt see any further on the train), Mummys Yummys line went all the back to the train trestle and Dominion which went under the train trestle as well.

Prowlers line overflowed the queues until about 11, and the line went back to Zulu.

At the train we were loading and pulling out as quickly as we could (usually 2 more runs per hour then we usually do) and we still left the station full of guests sometimes.

With all that being said the guests were in pretty good moods and all in all it was actually a blast working, it was a very warm and fuzzy feeling seeing the park that busy.

I made the mistake of going last night.  I couldn't believe that I was at WoF.  We had a good time but of course weren't able to hit every Haunt.  We only got through Corn Stalkers, Blood Shed and Dominion.  We only rode Prowler and Patriot.

Corn Stalkers was great.  Like others have said it's a lot better than Camp last year.

My nephew actually works up there and I asked him what the flag at the front of the park was for (couldn't find it) and he said that they're bringing back an old ride.  I have no idea, which old ride it would be.  Most of you know a lot more about the park than I do.  I'd love to hear your guesses.  I wonder why they didn't announce this with the Snoopy stuff?

I know last night there was 5 diffrent high school clubs here in town that went, cant imagine they put a very big dent in the crowd count tho.

An old ride? Lets see that could be Barnstormer, Omegatron, the Plunge, Rockin Reeler, Wing Ding, and Ninth Street Incline. I know theres alot more I'm just going off what I remember.

Here's my two cents on the mystery flag, A Carousel or Matterhorn from Geauga Lake.

We might think about splitting out the talk about the flag into a new thread, but has anyone actually SEEN this flag other than on the blog?  I haven't been to the park in awhile so I'm a little out of the loop right now

I quoted the new flag stuff over in the WoF 2011 thread.
