It does not surprise me one bit that the house got demolished by the guests walking through it. It happens to a lot of houses. Opening weekend they look perfect but later on someone decides to vandalize them so it does not shock me one bit.

Yeah i totally agree that stuff does need to be replaced and needs to fixed up badly.  It makes me sad that WoF doesnt put more heart into its haunts like it should.  They're great haunts and great people work there why not make the haunts the same way.  Its great when its new but after that they seem to ignore it.

Yeah, things get smashed up a lot during haunt.
In '07 I helped set up Vamp, and the outside part with the tent and tomb stones were just torn apart and broken. It was pretty terrible. The tent collapsed and everything. It sucked majorly.

I wouldn't be upset about no new haunts, we a new house last year AND a scare zone (even though it wasn't scary). Plus, we have a new coaster this year. I think a spruce up of the haunts is more than generous.

I might possibly get to work Dominion two days out of the week this up coming Halloween, so that should be fun! (if it works out, and if they don't get rid of Dominion)
But you can expect to see me in CarnEvil no matter what. Lol!

I'm excited!

I think that we're headed down the wrong path all of a sudden.

Props are going to break every year, blood is going to fad, feathers are going to fall and coffins are going to get dents.  The park shouldn't and isn't going to replace/fix every little thing every year.  It's not like they have a bottomless wallet and a Haunt prep staff of 400.  And since the Haunts are dark most people never notice these tiny changes year to year.

Saying that they don't put any heart into it is ridiculous.  The core staff that works on Haunt puts blood (they're own), sweat and tears into it every year.

I'm not saying they don't put effort into the haunts. I know they do. I'm not even asking for a lot of changes, just a few fixes here and there. I know there were a lot of things in Vamp last year that we -needed- fixed. I don't want them to go through and spruce up every single thing. Just a few things here and there, you know?

Well this is very off topic but how many houses were at haunt last year and what are the names of them all. Just curious since this is my first haunt to how many houses I'll be going through for my first time. All I can remember is Doll Factory, and Bloodshed. Can't remember the other ones, can someone help me there.

I totally agree with you.  My issue was with someone saying that the park doesn't put any heart into it.

HHF - You're right. That's all of the 9!

Jason - I agree. If they didn't, we wouldn't have a brand new makeup trailer. Well, not so new anymore, but it was last year!

ALSO.

Anybody looked at the park map recently? The flap with Haunt stuff says there are new "surprises" for 2009. Makes about 99% sure about the whole revamping Vamp thing.

And to that I have to say: YESPLZ.

So I went under the blog at the WoF website and Brandon said that they're kinda making a new haunt building...hmmm...cant wait!!  I wish it would be like Carnival of Carnivorous Clowns with that arcade area or a definite update on the haunts like Vamp house and Dominion would be nice to update as well.

It's just the lower half though from what I heard.
I wonder if they can count that as two haunts now?

Queue for 1 haunt, get one free. ;)

All I know is I can't wait to come experience my first Haunt in October. Asylum Island, and BloodShed, not to mention Master McCartheys Doll Factory has me very interested as I've said numerous times!

Make sure you plan your visit towards the end of the event.  It seems that the haunts really start clicking then -- towards the start of the event, some haunts seem to have issues with what works and what doesn't, especially if there are a lot of new screamsters working.

Swoosh is right. The screamsters that have been there a while know what they're doing, but they hire so many newbies each year, it takes them a while to figure things out. I'd say come mid-late October for the best nights. Also, visit the haunts you want to see most mid-day, because that's when we're at our peak. We're still getting in the zone for the first hour or so, and towards the end of the night we're too tired to care if you have a good time.

How's the middle of October like the 2nd-3rd week of October sound? I'm planning on headed to the park then. But ya I definetly know what you guys mean by how the monsters start to get better and better.

Club Blood would be awesome! A renovation of Vamp would be cool but just the thought of bringing a Haunt like Club Blood to the event would be mind blowing.

I guess I'm the only one not excited about Club Blood.  I am in no way against a rennovation of Lore but I still don't see how sex appeal = Halloween scary.

I'm personally happy with either which ever may come. Blood or a renovation. I've never been to Haunt so I don't know what to expect so either one looks good in my eyes.

I've never looked at the "Club Blood" haunt (whether at CF, Busch, or Universal) as being known only as a sexy haunt.  Don't get me wrong, I expect that there will be some sexy outfits, but when done correctly it is one of my favorite types of haunts.  For haunts like that cage dancers serve as a distractor to get the scare, not the scare itself.  If you think it will be a bad idea, by all means don't visit.  Lore could use shorter lines.
