Grand Exposition Update
« on: Jan 31, 2006, 11:02 »
As of Saturday they were still in the dirt work process, however they have since built a berm wall to the north of the new area so that you can't see how close this land is to Hwy 76.  Photos at MiG --> http://www.midwestinfoguide.com/silver/020106/

Nice!

I can't wait to see the completed product.  All of the art work makes it look like a section of Disney.

We might get to go onsite later this month.  Crystal emailed me back and said that they are thinking about having a press tour later this month.  Jason IF I can't go -- you will have to go.  There is no other way around it, understand?

Will the event be on a weekend and will the new rides be open?

Just in case we HAVE to go.  :smileinbox:

Cal -- April at the earliest.  As of today Crystal did not have a specific date as to when it will open to the public.

Janessa -- Usually press events are on Fridays or Saturdays.

Will any of the new rides be operational at the end of the month?

They won't open the new area until it is completely ready to go.

Hmm, we were planning on the first weekend in May to do a CC / SDC trip. I wonder if that will be late enough for all this to be open? Since we only go there once every few years, I'd hate to miss this by a few weeks.
eta: Okay, yeah it looks like we'll be safe in May. Their official website says opens in April 2006. Also found a post on 1branson.com that said the same thing. So, yippee, I get to ride all the new spinny rides!  :blob9:
