Coaster Christmas 2008

COASTER CHRISTMAS - Silver Dollar City
Saturday, December 6, 2008 (tentative)

Mark your calendars for our regional winter event at Silver Dollar City on December 6th. While the details are still being ironed out, this year's event looks to be an exciting one and we hope to bring the details of the event to you soon. Continuing the traditions of years past, we plan on bringing together park representatives from throughout the region to discuss what is to come in 2009 in addition to enjoying the wonderful food, atmosphere and hospitality that can only be found at Silver Dollar City.

With so many exciting events coming up in our region, we hope you'll be able to make it to at least one of them and look forward to seeing you out on the midways. If you have any questions, please feel free to let myself or any member of your regional rep team know.

I have a morning flight to Orlando on the 7th so I'm out. Course I would need to be an ACE member first.

Yea I am batting around weather or not to join. I was originally going to join so I can go to Coaster Con next year, but I had to push my Cedar Point trip back to next year and that trip is going to include 6 parks which will take most of my money next summer. Coaster Christmas sounds fun but is it fun enough to join ACE just for that event?

There is another coaster org that gets that same discount as well and has a fantastic coaster tracking widget (since it is in competition to some degree with this site I am not going to refer to it by name).  And I have asked if another coaster org (hint hint) might be able to get in on some of that as well.  I was told that it would be looked into ;)  Granted ACE has several other reasons to join that go above and beyond anything the aforementioned clubs offer.

I just received word a few minutes ago.  Coaster Christmas will be $50 for meal/ticket for ACE members this year.  If I remember right this is approx $4-5 less then last year.  I should have more details as far as season pass price and non-ace member prices coming soon.

It doesn't look like we'll be able to get Schlitterbahn down there.  They don't have a local marketing team yet and team Texas will be tied up with their new Christmas event.

I'll keep working on them and maybe we'll get lucky with a surprise visit.

Would it be possible to make the two day tickets available for Friday instead of Sunday?  The wife and I like driving down there early and making the most of Friday evening.

Have you maybe asked to see if they can send anything for attendees?  I could go for some more of those foam castle towers :)

Talked with Jeff and we have a rudimentary price structure (not including kid prices yet still working on getting prices there)

ACE Adult Member $50 ($4 less then last year)
ACE Adult Season Pass Member  $18 ($8 less then last year)

Non-Ace Adult $62 ($2 less then last year)
Non-Ace Adult Season Pass Holder $28 ($8 less then last year)

I can talk with them about that Jason, just don't let me forget.

How many attendees would you guess based on previous years?

Some Schlitterbahn schwag is a great idea.

Some more good news for those debating on attending.  We will have special VIP seating for the Dicken's Christmas Carol at the Opera House.  No exact info on which show yet, but just received word for SDC and this is exciting news!

I should have a flyer out soon!

BTW Jason we usually have between 15-50 attendees, lets make this the best Coaster Christmas ever!  Or should I call it Coaster Con Eve?
:)

I paid online, is it cool if I scan the registration form and send it via email instead of snail mail?

Dumb question, but since I haven't ever been to a Coaster Christmas before, will there be representatives from other parks (I'm most concerned with WoF) be there?

It's also been confirmed that Schlitterbahn can't make it.  :(

The grand prize is a doozy.

OK, I have signed up online to become an ACE member online on Wednesday. I hope to get my email confirmation soon (It says it will take 3 days) so I can prove my membership status. I hope it doesn't take that long to get it.
