    • My Geocaching Profile I find stuff with my GPS and keeps me busy all Winter.
I was stumbling around another site which directed me to a classic Aerial Photo site. This ones features Aerial Shots from back into the 60s in the KC Area (and even older in other parts). I have found stuff like the Municipal Stadium and the groundwork for the Truman Sports Complex (It took a few years to build) and even found the fields which WOF was built on. (Some of the treelines are still there and can be reconized)

Here is a link to the Fairyland Park Aerial Photo: http://www.historicaerials.com/?poi=5996

You can compare the layout of the Wildcat at its newer home here: http://maps.google.com/maps?t=k&hl=en&ie=UTF8&ll=35.583705,-97.440941&spn=0.003429,0.006781&z=17

You would notice that the back end is a lil different at it's new location in OK City.  Anyway have fun here finding classic parks with this.

I had no idea that coaster used to be in KC. Huh.

It was near 75th and 71 hwy.

I remember driving by there several years ago and still seeing some of the structures standing.  It looked like a creepy Scooby Doo location.

I have to say, FC RUINED this ride. Looking at the old airial, you can see that it used to have another couple of hills and the turnaround actually looked fun. Today it has a completely jacked-up return run and a terrible finish. I really wish they had built their own woodie rather than pretending to give this thing a new home.

It's a cool photo though. Yet another gem of a park that's nothing but a memory.

I can remember that as a kid my parents would drive me by the old park with the coaster still standing.  Man I wanted to ride it.  I just couldn't understand how someone could own a coaster and not run it...

While you should look around once in awhile it is ALWAYS better from the top of a coaste

Fairyland was at 75th and prospect, on the southeast corner. I think there is a library and vacant field there now.
