ACE Coaster Christmas
« on: Nov 10, 2010, 10:04 »
I know there are a few ACE members still on here, so I figured I would post.  For its 6th year Coaster Christmas at SDC is making yet another come back!  It really is an amazing deal this year $25 for ACE members, $35 for non members (Must attend w an ACE Member).  That is NOT a Season Pass price.

$25/$35 gets you a  2 day ticket, ERT on Fire in the Hole, Thunderation and PowderKeg, VIP seating at the Dicken's Christmas Carol, and buffet lunch followed by park presentations.

Currently we have confirmation from both Worlds of Fun and Schlitterbahn, still trying to get Six Flags St. Louis...

I would LOVE to go, but that's right before finals and we have a huge massive elephant Christmas concert the same weekend anyway.
...and the clocks were striking thirteen.

I will most likely be there as Dustijn's Guest. Trying to work out finances right now!

Great news!  We have a maybe from Six Flags St Louis!  Just waiting on a confirmation.  This is the closest we have ever gotten to getting a presenter from there.

Update!  We have a confirmation now from Six Flags St. Louis, it won't be Elizabeth though it will be a perm. staff member from Operations dept.  Thats a pretty major accomplishment.

Also presenting will be WOF and Chris from Schlitterbahn.  Remember the deadline for registration (online) is Nov 27th!

All Right I got my Registration in now. I had to renew my ACE Membership just to sign up. I hope my Renewal at about the same time of the Meet up doesn't pose a problem. October is always the most Expensive Month for me becasue of Season Pass Renewals.

Chris,
Its not a problem we pretty much work on the honors system.

Just as a reminder to everyone if you are not an ACE member you must be attending as a guest of an ACE member.

Thanks for the great photos Dustijn.  I hope you all had a great time!

I think the ERT plan worked out well, much better then I expected (I was worried about the 30 min segments but it seemed to work perfectly)

Crystal tried to get us hauled over there in time for the group photo but we told them to take it without us, as Jeff and I are just not big group photo people. (Matt wanted a group photo though so we tried to please)

The group photo idea was awesome -- let's make sure we do that again next year -- maybe in front of the tree next year?  We can move it around each year.  As far as ERT went -- I thought it was excellent the way it was handled.  I think next year instead of doing Dickens, it might be nice to have another backstage tour for photos again like we did at Con.  I think that would probably be more down the alley of the participants... don't get me wrong, I love Dickens and see it everytime I go during OTC, but it might be fun to change things up if we can.

I enjoy Dickens a lot too, but agree changing it up ever so often keeps the event fresh. I also did some thinking after we did the hand vote of moving it up to the first weekend of November in hopes to have better weather as a soon to be new "first time" member of ACE would be in favor of it. Maybe Morning Being Wildfire and Powder Keg, Photo Tour of Fire in the Hole, Lunch, then Night ERT on Thunderation? I Loved the event keep up the good work!

I like the idea of the photo in front of the xmas tree, originally we were going to do it in front of the wreath but when crystal told me about the crowd that idea got dropped fast and the photo in front of Thunderation was a last minute move.

I definitely agree about switching up the Dicken's Christmas Carol for something different, I am not sure what though.  I was thinking maybe the saloon show or maybe a tour of the steam train round house and firing?  A behind the scenes tour is always a good thing but they are tricky in that they would have to be before the park opened.  I am willing to hear any possibilities.

BTW there is a 80% chance possibility of a spring SDC event, so stay tuned!

I will express that I greatly enjoy having reserved seating for Christmas Carol.  It is the main reason that six members of my family attended rather than just the two coaster nerds.

As far as tours, I was thinking maybe going through the Lost River (are there any remants of the Diving Bell?)   Since the ride is closed it could be done during operating hours and not cut into ERT.

My completely unrealistic request would be Sunday morning ERT on Ozark Wilcat.  ;)  If it's not operational it would still be cool to tour CC.
