A Disney Park in South MO???

Melissa Horn over at WoF.org posted this and I couldn't resist adding it here as well.

I've heard these rumors in the past but never took them seriously.  This one has a but more behind it though.

This area is a hotbed for new park development and I'm not sure what's driving it.  Schlitterbahn, Legoland, Wild West World and a possible Disney park.  Does anyone have any guesses as to what's behind all of this?

You're not the first to mention a mall but that makes even less sense than a Disney park IMO.  SoMo (South Missouri(I should trade make that)) is already getting over 2 million park goers per year so a Disney park isn't a completely crazy idea.

Of all the markets I would have expected Disney to tap, this is perhaps the last one I would have thought of. But Disney doesn't have a midwest "presence" and some sort of Disney attraction would be great for the area, especially with such a focus on the family in that part of the state. I must say I wouldn't complain if this did happen.
