I agree, the only problem is it doesn't really go with the theming of an of the sections except Planet Snoopy, and it's not a family coaster. For a park that needs to restore it's theming, this wouldn't really help.
IMO the only thing remarkable about DT is that it's indoors and themed. Take that away and it's just an old fad coaster from the 80's, not something that I could see enduring at another park for 20 more years. Might as well scrap it in that case.I agree, the only problem is it doesn't really go with the theming of an of the sections except Planet Snoopy, and it's not a family coaster. I would imagine that if we got DP then the enclosure would not come with it. I think it would look better as an outdoor ride, expecially in an area that needs it the most like Scandenavia. But I do agree MA needs it more.
I'm all for WOF getting hand-me downs if they are refurb'd/renovated and don't look old or trashy. The park couldn't have done a better job with the way their last "new for you" ride was spruced up, the Grand Carousel.I would imagine that if we got DP then the enclosure would not come with it. Space Sprial would be fine, but if we got Disaster Transport AND it's enclosure ANNNND it was totally refurb'd to not look like a half-finished 80's space ride coated with layers and layers of neon paint and dusty, non-working props and lights... that could be great. However deconstructing, refurbishing, shipping and reconstructing that thing seems like it would be crazyexpensive. Otherwise, if they are just planning on dumping DT on WOF or MA in it's current state or even just minimal touch ups (or without the indoor enclosure entirely) then I would not be very excited for that at all.
Disaster Transport and SS leaving CP does seem rather likely given the story this far though. I know Ouimet mentioned that Cedar Point's 2013 investment would "open up the view of the beach" and cost approx. 25 million. DT certainly does a great job of blocking the beach view and something costing 25 million dollars probably needs room. If this rumor turns out to be true, I imagine MI would also be more likely to get the coaster than WOF, they certainly haven't gotten much action lately.
I'm starting to hear talk at Toilet Paper Residue that Disaster Transport and Space Spiral from Cedar Point may be getting a new home, and alot of those people are suggesting Worlds of Fun or Michigan's Adventure. Either that or sell it to another park. Any thoughts?
