Saw Men Who Stare at Goats last night.  It had it's moments but overall was pretty average.

It looks like I might be seeing How to Train Your Dragon tomorrow.  It's getting a lot of good reviews.

I saw it last night. It was a really fun movie. Great for families. Toothless was freaking adorable.
But the best part of the night was the 3D roller coaster in the trailer for Despicable Me. It actually got my adrenaline up a little.

Really surprised by that.  The previews look horrible.

I understand this movie isn't for everyone, mainly due to the nude scenes and drug use...

Finally saw the hurt locker.  I liked it a lot but it never felt like a "movie of the year".

I'm a big fan of war movies in general but I rarely see them as award winning pieces.  Saving Private Ryan and Apocalypses Now are pretty much the only two that I would exclude from that.  I could watch either one of those any day at any time.  Although Apocalypses Now is best seen at night in a dark basement.

^I'm just glad it won over Avatar.  Avatar while OK was just that OK, except of course for the 3D.

Hurt locker did a really great job of telling a story about people doing an amazingly difficult thing in a politically charged environment while not leaning in any political direction itself.

Fantastic Mr. Fox is a fun one.  Better than I thought it would be.

I also got luck and saw part of Saving Private Ryan on TBS yesterday.

Couples Retreat - below average with 2 or 3 laughs.

Where the Wild Things Are - Not as good as I had hoped but I still liked it.  It's probably been 20 years since I read the book.

Saw Up in the Air the other night. It was closer to a chick flick than I expected, but it was really pretty enjoyable. And odd to see Zach Galifinakas and Danny McBride in serious roles. But a pretty good movie.

And I should be sleeping right now but Goodfellas is on AMC. Sleep isn't gonna happen.

Goodfellas is a lot like Saving Private Ryan in my book.  I can watch it just about anytime.

I need to watch Saving Private Ryan again.  I know it's not a movie but it kind of is, Is anyone watching The Pacific on HBO?  I think I am like 5 episodes in and for me it didn't start off nearly as good as Band of Brothers but it really has picked up the pace sense the first couple.

I'll probably pick up the Pacific once it goes to disc.  I still need to get Band of Brothers.

Watched The Blind Side this weekend. Pretty good. Liked it better than Pursuit of Happyness (comparable story IMHO) because it didn't focus as much on the negative.

We seen it on Saturday, I cried too.  I loved it!  All three of my girls liked  it too... and two out of the three stayed awake for the whole thing, we did go after lunch so it was nap time for the littlest one.

I've got to get out and see this one.

As for recent movies we've rented The Fall (very interesting and a beautiful movie) and The Road (really intense, made it hard to sleep last night).

Just saw Jonah Hex last weekend. Was in the mood for an old western, gunslinger and wow was I blown away at how good it was. One of the best DC Comic movies I've ever seen. Now not as good as The Dark Knight but its right up there at number 2 as my 2nd favorite DC movie. Tons of action, stuff blowing up, ya it was all good.

I watched The Crazies last night, it was great! It had me sitting on the edge of my seat the whole time. My only complaint is the final scene they left so many questions unanswered, but its pretty obvious that they're going to make a second one to fill in those questions.

Caught Despicable Me this afternoon.  It was entertaining.

For recent cartoons I would rank them in this order, How to Train your Dragon, Toy Story 3 and Despicable Me.

I'm looking forward to Inception next weekend.

So Inception was pretty much awesome.

It's definitely going to take a few viewings to really 'get it,' but it definitely is an experience. And not to spoil anything but it also has one of the best fight scenes and one of the best "OMG did that really happen" moments in recent [movie] history.

Just watched Karate Kid, it was ok. I pefer the original KK over the new one. The only thing I liked better in the new one was Jakie Chan with his role as Mr.Kon, his acting was amazing in this movie.
