Snowbird Ski and Summer Resort Mountain coaster
« on: Mar 31, 2011, 07:19 »
This "coaster" being built is causing a lot of opposition from the town, but one thing I find very very funny in the article, is that they state "Rather, the top of this mountain coaster – differing from a roller coaster in that it uses gravity rather than hydraulics"  http://www.snowbird.com/mtncoaster.html I may be confused, but pretty sure gravity has a big roll in a coaster....... Any ways point being that this looks like a great idea, I just wish they would had done a little more studying when it come to defending their project. GRAVITY.....WHO KNEW!!!!!

I would guess that once the developers educate the general public they'll be good to go.  There will still be a handful of people who hate the plan but that's pretty much par for the course with anything you build.

It reminds me of another recent story in California.  They want to build a giant solar power field and the environmentalists oppose it because it will wreck the habitat of a small ground squirrel.
