This next story is rather interesting, but according to Busch Adventure Zone, a website strictly devoted to anything having to do with an Anheuser Busch Park, there are plans now to make the Sheikra coaster down at Busch Gardens Africa into a floorless attraction. So why does Busch Gardens Africa plan to make this move? Marketing has reportedly stated that if Sheikra goes floorless, it will attract even more people down to the park, and more importantly, it will give people who have already experienced the current Sheikra coaster to experience something new, with floorless trains. Sheikra opened in May of 2005, and is a Dive Machine from B&M of Switzerland. DETAILS.

It's as close as you can get to a floorless experience since you're feet can't touch the floor anyway.

This seems like a bit of a waste to me.

Yeah, I honestly don't get this either. It practically feels floorless as it is now. And since you're headed straight down for half the ride you get a pretty good view!

I don't see it will change the wet factor.  All of the water is throw up behind the car.

I'm in total agreeement here as well. I don't believe this will add to the ride at all in my opinion. Could be just to get some people to come back on an "impluse" basis. It happens

Rumor going around about BGE getting a copy of Sherika. Wonder if it is an idea to cross-promote the 2?

I am sure the existing trans would be modified if they decide to go floorless on it. The reason why I say this because I think the trains floors are just attached by welds to the car and I'm sure it can be removed, but I am unsure if this is good for the structural integrity of the trains. Also if they make it floorless it would totally change the appearance of the trains such as the hawks beak and wings may be removed along with the railings. Also the ride would have to be shut down for atleast 2 months to retool the ride platform and rebuild all the trains and build new evacuation platforms, and to test the newly rebuilt trains out. However I don't see this shut coming until January if they do it at all and I don't think BGA (BGTB) would want to do such a thing as they already have a floorless in Orlando.  Also the website that mentions this rumor seems to be brand new and has alot of broken links, so I would have to question the validity of this rumor.

Oh Yeah, along these same lines...

I heard from my cousins - uncle's - best friend that Patriot is going to have a Floor retrofitted to the trains.  Making it the worlds first Invert to have a floor. :angel4:
