I don't find it that disturbing at all. I think that they freaked out, which is understandable but you had me ready for dismemberment.
I read somewhere else that the kid wound up with a nasty bruise on his leg. The cable apparently popped up through the floor when they rolled backwards over it.
Certainly scary but out of all the possible coaster accidents I'd take this one.
