True. Thanks for the reminder I knew about that but forgot all about it. Maybe a Saturday sometime during that month will better suit me.

Apparently, it's illegal here to make students pay to go on a field trip. We got a free trip to Adventureland in eighth grade.

A Free Field Trip is a Free Field Trip even if it was just to the gas station.

My daughter and I are going on Sunday. I hope to see the flags and drool... Hopefully, WOF got their act together and will have everything running.

Get their act together? Are they supposed to control Mother Nature now?
Also as long as you ride the train you would have to be blind to miss the flags.

IMO, If SDC can run their rides when the weather is in the 30s and 40s, WOF can do better than they did last weekend.

I have to respectfully disagree. I believe the "magic" number is the same both places and last sunday they had every coaster running except for Mamba. Keep in mind SDC doesn't have a mile long 200 foot steel hyper coaster.
Also, SDC will shut down their rides once the temp falls under the "magic" number, Worlds of Fun will usually continue to run.

I finally got to go out there today. Saw Matt and Jennifer and I had a great time. If you care to read my report you can do so on my site: http://www.bradleyrobertson.com/node/79. Hopefully I will see more of the people from here in the upcoming weeks.

Bradley, I read your report and I happen to be on Mamba's platform too when it had "technical difficulties."
I really didn't like how one of the ride ops got on the Mamba mic and was trying to pump up the crowd. It was annoying and it was also making people upset. When a ride goes down they should get on the mic and say, "Attention Guests waiting in line for _______. _______ is currently down, we are not sure how long it will be down. Your more than welcome to wait in line but if you choose to exit the line you must re-enter at the end." And leave it at that.

hmm... the last thing I want to do when I ride goes down is to get "pumped" up about riding it by a ride ambassador making comments on the mic. I hope this was just a "first weekend" mistake on his part.

Yeah I guess I forgot to mention that part of it. My post was already getting a little long and I let some of the details out. But I do agree that the way it was approached could have been handled better. However, I think trying to get people's mind of how long it was going to be might not have been a horrible thing. Unfortunately it seemed like it was distracting the maintenance crew and that's when they crossed the line.

Yes... About the crew member that was trying to get everyone in line to go along with his Mamba chant - It was confusing to some people, since there was not an announcement made, like what Robby suggested, it was seen that this guy was just playing around, so the crowd was getting mad. I could also see that he was in the way of the maintenance staff also, they seemed annoyed as well.

^ I hope so too when I rode Mamba on Saturday night. They had the PA speakers turned up too loud there. My ears were ringing for about a half hour after riding Mamba. Mamba itself ran well Saturday Night but the loud PA kept me from making a reride.
