Since it is very obvious that speculation is about to begin regarding the "flags" let's go ahead and start a thread dedicated to discussion about this project -- here is a recap of what was said in the 2008 thread.

I'm still trying to figure out where the bottom flag is on a map.  Either way the shear size of the area is interesting and the fact that there's flags this early.

Intresting. I wonder if they are moving the tracks or not for the new ride?

Now, are these flags speculated to be for a big woodie or a haunt?

Let's just go with new "attraction" for right now and not be so specific.

If it is indeed a new ride, that's quite a good-sized footprint.

And where would an entrance to a new ride be? Would it be the now-vacant Zinger entrance?

Is it possible that this might only be a new access road?

That's always a possibility.

It's certainly not as fun to think about though.  :sad11:

Do flags always have to mean something?  Couldn't this be something as simple as marking utility lines?

When did Patriot flags start showing up?  I assume much later than this, at least midway through the prior season, not a full year before.

If we assume that these flags do mean something then what type(s) of coasters take longer than Patriot to build?

Ben, the first flags showed up in May, but remember that PATRIOT's terrain was already flat and there was very little to any earth movement that had to be done.  Here, however the terrain is a little more hilly and it might take longer to get things prep. to go.  I would guess either a large steel or a GCII woodie at this point.

ZZtop, no not really considering most of us knew before the flags showed up that the haunt was going to go there so there was little to any speculation that it was anything but the haunt going up.

Cory, I would imagine that the Zinger station would be the entrance, but it is hard to say right now.

Another reason why I don't like Red Dot City.
If it doesn't deal with a park that Blobb cares about, he has to go and be his royal anus about it and then his minions try to be "cool" and follow suit. Not sure what you expected Jive... at least the folks at TN are receptive and actually post educated guesses.  We'll make sure to make him feel oh so welcome next time he spams these boards with his "trips"

Quote from: Blobb at RDC
So my official two guesses are:

1. Worlds longest and fastest water main
2. Hannah Montana Motion Simulator

Most sites have minions.  Once the silliness slows down the curiously will likely take over much like it has here and a few other places.

According to someone that was at dry run yesterday the area is loaded with flags.

This is apparently the reason for the train being so interesting since you can only seem them while riding it.

Plunge lot and the woods is what I gathered.

We didn't get into specifics.  Just that there are a lot more than the original 3 photos showed.

Brandon gives people another reason to attend Mayhem.  Jump to minute 58 (it's a really long podcast).

By that time we all know whats already going on before that announcement. We will probably get much more details for it at Coaster Mayham.

The interview actually starts at minute 48. Brandon talks about the superfan contest* and how the winner was some guy who colors his hair just for that contest. I bet that is a pretty cool guy.  thumbsup

Back on topic.  Does anyone else feel that Brandon basically said "it's going to be a coaster, but I am not going to tell you about it right now"?
