Interesting.  Coasters don't just "fly" off without either a construction, computer or humar error.  I wonder who OSHA is going to get.  :boxing:

I dunno was kinda weird to me. I thought most coasters have a under bar, or atleast a wheel that glides under the track to keep them from comming off, is this correct? I know there are some that do not, I am talking about rail coasters. I know Wild Cat at CP does, and this ride and Wildcat look similar.

Yeah, no kidding. Seems like it doesn't all add up. Like maybe a part was missing or installed incorrectly. At least it wasn't paying customers that got hurt, but of course I hope these guys are okay.

Me neither. They flat out "look" like they are going to rust or fall apart. Well if you have a ride that is always going back and forth on a flatbed truck, that kind of thing just might happen. Unfortunately, as more and more familes flock to Their Local State/County Fairs, this type of thing is going to happen.

Well I understand alot of you are scared of carnival rides, just like I am, but a couple things to look at here, just real quick. Skyliner is a portable wheel that could go on a flat bed. Rockin Reeler was also a portable ride, same with Wacky worm, most of the rides in the children's area. Also at CP, the alpine Bob, Matterhorn, is portable, and Wildcat is pretty much the same design as the ride that derailed, and Wild Cat is also portable. I mean it totally depends on the care that is given to the ride. I think alot of people would have have realized there were on a portable ride until they were told. I just have a problem when I go to carnivals, and they have an "Omegatron" style ride that is placed on a downward slope of a hill and are using wood to level the ride, very scary if you ask me.

Indeed so. If they say at a fixed style amusement park, they are usually taken much better care of. When they go around from carnival to carnival to carnival is when they make me quite nervous. Some of these hired hands at these carnivals I think are practically folks just off of the street and don't have the dedication and experience that most amusement park mechanics and ride ops do. There are obviously expections to that as well.
