I wonder how the queue lines in the station will be since the seat configuration is different.  I would assume the 4 riders would wait in a typical style setup

It will be the same as Behemoths's set up.  2 people per queue stall.  Seats 2-3 queue together and seats 1-4 queue together.

And there's enough room for the one rider to climb all the way to the other side of the trai without difficulty?

I was wanting specifically not to go on the HW/PKI/CP tour of the last 3 summers...but dammit, this ride looks amazing.

Might be your last summer to use your WOF to do such a trip. :(

It's a good question (air time).

Where would you even find such info?  I saw on another site that someone listed Voyage at 24 seconds.  :dunno:

So the wife and I decided to start our Coaster Warrior weekend a little early.

Diamondback blew us away.  It rained all day and then stopped around 7 or so.  We figured the park would be pretty empty and we were right.  20 minutes for our first ride and we just went to the spot that the ride op told us to go to.  The middle was OK but didn't blow us away.  We saw a misty Beast during or ride though and headed there next.  It was a 10 minute wait and was damn fun.  I can't image it holding together without brakes.  Next up was SoB since we missed out on it during our last visit.  It started drizzling while we were in line, which made the experience all the more memorable.  The drop was crazy and the rest was mildly entertaining.  I was expecting a back breaking though.  Not nearly as rough as I thought it would be.  A walk on for Drop Zone.  Still one of the scariest rides on the planet.  Then back to Diamondback.  This time it was only a 10 minute wait and we got the very back.  Some of the best air time I've ever experienced.  The drop was wicked as well and my outer arm got soaked in drop.  We hopped back in line and got the last train of the night in the very front.  I swear I almost slide up and out of my seat.  The hills prior to the mcbr are dangerously awesome.  This thing has cracked our top 5 easily and may be #3 behind X and Voyage.  Tomorrow night is 2.5 hours of night ERT.  headbang

I was wondering if any of you had ridden Diamondback yet. I will be there in a month. I still have to ride Firehawk too. We were there the day after it opened, and the line was "too long for a Vekoma." I really need to stop bashing them, some of their newer rides are getting quite enjoyable!

After a night of ERT I have placed Diamondback at #3 behind X and Voyage.  Row 13 was our fav.  It's the front row on the 2nd to last car and on every drop I seriously thought that I was going to be pulled right out of my seat.  I can't think of another ride where I experienced air time like that and to have it happen 5 or 6 times was incredible.  We probably got 8 rides last night and it was the most crowded I've ever seen any ERT.  Every ride was a 3 or 4 train wait.

Heading into a full moon on the hammerhead turn was pretty cool too.

Jason sums things up much nicer than I do, Ditto on the diamondback experience.  I don't know about top 5 though but still a very good ride.

Got in 3 rides on DB last night and will get some more in today.
TBQH I was a little disappointed with the layout.  Whereas Behemoth was designed to really show off the ejector air, DB is more for speed -- and while the air is still there in some places, it is just not as noticeable as Behemoth.

Right now I would say Behemoth is miles above DiamondBack, but I will reassess today.

'Course considering how many coasters I rode yesterday I might have been "numb" to the whole experience by the time I rode DB. lol

Be sure to let us know how your 2nd day at Kings Island went. I'm curious to know how Firehawk is running, and if Diamondback proved to be better then Behemoth.

It sounds like I need to get up to Canada if Behemoth is that much better.

Don't forget to check out Goliath at La Ronde as well. Speaking of Goliath, Swoosh did you ever check out Goliath, if so how is it? That's one hyper that looks good.

Also I've only been on Goliath(SFoG) and Nitro, how does Diamondback compare to those two?

Diamondback beats Nitro, (according to Jason)

and I think it Destroys Goliath (SFoG)

I am surprised to hear that Behemoth has more air than DB.

Well I got 12 rides in today and I still think I give the edge to Behemoth.
I think the reason I like Behemoth better is because it is more of an "out and back" layout which allows for more hills which in turn give it more floater airtime.

Also when I rode Behemoth last summer the train wasn't trimmed until the MCBR before the helix and even then it was on very lightly.  DB was braked on the hill before the spiral up to the MCBR and then the MCBR was on hard and killed the last two floater hills.

IF you go to KI this summer to ride DB use the SINGLE RIDER line.  I literally rode 8 times in the same time span as one person who waited in the regular queue (the whole queue was open)

DB makes SoGo look like a kiddie ride.  I have not been on Le Goliath yet or Nitro... those will probably be conquered next summer if not before

Right now I'm sticking with Nitro until I ride Diamondback. Reason being is because I had 4 amazing night rides on Nitro when I rode it last season. The Trims were on but barely which is always a good thing. Nitro was an amazing ride from start to finish. I loved the 2nd and 3rd hill on it.

Also Swoosh is right on the single rider line, I always take advantage of those when I goto a park that has them. Makes it so much easier to ride quicker and more times.
