It's just one lucky bastard.  I'm staying back to cover local happenings.

I'll head out for the ERT event in May.

I am jealous too, I was wasting time at work the other day looking at pics of the construction. It looks like Apollo's Chariot on steroids.

I feel like I should make my way to the ERT event too... but I don't know for sure... Isn't it around the time of HWN? I'm too lazy to look it up right now.

I'm really hoping to get some POV action from Diamondback. We'll find out on Friday :)

It'll be weird covering this without Jason but that is why we are awesome cause we can cover Prowler and Diamondback the same day. (and possibly even a third thing!)

I have arrived in Cincinnati!!! :sunny:

Weather is wonderful today and the forecast looks good for tomorrow too.  I couldn't help but drive by the park to take a look at Diamondback even if it was just from the road. I am sure many of the locals found themselves doing this all winter.  I know I did when WoF built Patriot.  I snapped a couple of pics but they don't do it justice.  This park already had a very interesting skyline with the Eiffel tower and all but now - it is probably one of the neatest to see from the road.

I also made my first stop of the day at Skyline Chili.  Now if you have been to Cincinnati or even Ohio for that matter and haven't had Skyline Chili then consider yourself officially on probation.  If you don't make it there on your next visit you'll suffer the consequences! (like double probation or something worse like this  nutkick )

Check out the Pics Below

Jeff just left KC and is flying to Indianapolis, so he will be there tommorow as well, I gave him explicit instructions to bug you about a certain video. ;)

Good luck tomorrow.  I heard that security is watching for you.  Be sure to video tape the baton beat down you get in the morning.

Nice!  It looks like the weather couldn't have been any better.

What did you prefer, back or front?

The weather is absolutely perfect 70 and sunny.

Both the back and front have CRAZY airtime.  I mean just a ton of time out of your seat, I overheard someone say that this ride is the best "weight loss" program he has ever been on!

I think the front is mainly better just because of the view you get.  Eyes closed back wins.  But actually it is a pretty fun ride in all seats.

And Man does it fit in the park nicely.  I really barley even new that section of the park existed befor but now it is alive and vibrant.

Although the water splashdown offers little to the rider, it makes for quite a spectacle for the people in the park.

Plan your trips to Kings Island a great park just got a little greater!

Yeah, this thing looks B.A. I don't really wanna go back to KI since I've been 3 times already, but I'm gonna have to now.

I think the front is mainly better just because of the view you get.

Not that there is really a comparisson, but I like the front of Mamba for the same reason.

That splashdown pic is pretty cool.

Bradley,
I know this will come as a suprise but I like Mamba better then most B&M Hypers, I don't care for the restraints (I like to feel restrained and that lap bar just doesn't do it for me), and B&M's are TOO smooth.

I really don't know if there is such a thing as TOO smooth.  For me any bumps or vibration on coaster going that fast is borderline and if it gets worse it is no fun at all.  That being said, while I would trade Mamba for Diamondback it isn't a no brainer decision for me as you might think it would be.  Mamba is a great coaster and is much better then a fairly long list of other hyper coasters. :love4:

More pictures for you guys, I will be working on a preview to post later and will have a full picture update in the gallery when I'm back in KC.
I also got some sweet video too, the POV's are from the b-roll as no onride photography was allowed, but from what I saw of the b-roll it is good high quality stuff unlike some. :occasion14:

I like the last picture, I am pretty sure there is a train in it somewhere.

Nice looking ride. I am waiting until 2010 to make the trip there on my way to Mania that year.

Damn, that looks fun. Very AC-ish. I like.

And just to throw a wrench in the discussion about Beemers and Mamba above, my favorite "standard" hyper is probably Magnum..... How do you feel about that?  pure_evil
