Coastermania
« on: Mar 19, 2009, 08:29 »
Why isn't Coaster Community on the approved list? I don't want to go buy a coasterbuzz membership to get it, where you at Jason, I'll give you money. :)

http://www.cedarpoint.com/public/news/coastermania/

How much is an ACE membership running these days? I know there used to be some perks, but now I don't know what they are offering.

We're on the list.  We just got approved after the Mania site was done.

We do.  If anyone has any questions regarding our membership you can check out our club page http://www.coastercommunity.com/coaster-community-club-a-code-of-conduct.html

But if you were ever considering joining ACE this is the year to do it.  Our membership will not get you into Coaster Con.

We are tentatively planning on going again this year -- but a lot depends on several other things that are still "up in the air" here at the MiG HQ.

I think we'll make the drive to Chicago, and hang out for a few days, then head to Cedar Point, then possibly Kings Island, Holiday World, SFStL, and Worlds of Fun. We may have to scrap a couple of those, but we'll see. I have been wanting to get to Holiday World, and I really can't pass up Diamondback. Kings Island had been my home park for four years, so it's a necessity.

I think we might head over to Waldameer after Mania to ride RFII.  I want to ride it before it gets the chance to get "GG smooth" (and you know what I mean there)

Plans have changed -- No Mania this year -- we have something even better that has just popped up on the radar.  :D  Sure hope it goes through.

That sounds like a good idea and it would be a lot of fun.
I think we're going to Orlando instead of going to CoasterMania this year because well it's already paid for (remember how I was talking about that company we booked our honeymoon through saying that we never used our package and it is still good to use "again").

That's freakin' sweet.

And it's way better than finding 10 bucks in your winter coat when you first put it on.

Wow, that will be fun!

I'll try and take some video of Ron Toomer speaking at the event. Now I just have to bring some caffeine so I can go to bed at 12:30am after ERT and wake up at 6am for ERT!

Jason, you might know, since I have a platinum pass, do I need to RSVP that I'm coming, or do I just show up?

You have to pre-register otherwise you have to stand in the "long line"

It seems weird for sure.  I sent a quick note to the person handling the event.

Here's the response from the park.

Quote
There is no early pre-registration this year.  The process is the same as it used to be – arrive anytime on Friday, stop by Group Sales, pick up your materials and enjoy the park.

I realized that I ran out of envelops this weeks and I plan on picking some up later today.  Your card is sitting right in front of me.  I believe that it has made a few off hand remarks this morning.  It really wants out of my office.

Sounds familiar, don't let it bite you on the hand!

Any idea where group sales is? Probably up at the front of the park? I always use the Magnum gate, so it will be fun to go to a part of the park I have never been to.

The ERT Schedule has been announced!

Friday, June 5

    * (10:15 - 11:15 p.m.) Magnum XL-200 & Skyhawk
    * (11:00 p.m. - Midnight) Maverick

Saturday, June 6

    * (6:00 - 8:00 a.m.) Millennium Force
    * (7:00 - 9:00 a.m.) Top Thrill Dragster & Power Tower
    * (11:15 p.m. - 12:15 a.m.) maXair & Blue Streak
    * (11:30 p.m. - 12:30 a.m.) Raptor

I'm not going to get much sleep! Magnum and Maverick late, then Millennium Force at 6am! Holy buckets, this is going to be interesting. The coffee will be brewed, I'm going to have to take a nap before the film festival on Saturday.

Wow, I would only be interested in the morning ERT session on Saturday...well and Ron Toomer speaking.
I would be surprised if many stick around for the night ERT session on Saturday.

Seems odd that Blue Streak would be on the list since it has very short lines anyway.
