I hadn't realized that WOF wasn't staying open late for SkillsUSA this year.

Also does anyone know where ACE's definition of a roller coaster is posted?  I don't see how anyone doesn't consider Fire in the Hole a coaster.  Even the man who designed it calls it a roller coaster.

I agree with you that it is a coaster.  The only reasonable explanation for why it is not a coaster is the first half of the ride, they consider it more of a dark ride then a coaster.  ACE has this black and white definition that a ride can't be more then "ONE" thing.

very very briefly mentioned as an add-on "subject to change"

As much as I would like to go an support CON being at our parks, it is sort of a "either shell out the money to go to parks I can go to any time" or "go on other trip to parks I have not been to before"

I have always felt ACE and Coaster events in general were a lot more then "what parks are we visiting?" and honestly for me it makes it even better that it IS at my home parks.   After all its hundreds of people, many of which are friends from all over the country that I get to show off too! :)

Schlitterbahn is on there, it looks like it will be an event to add on at registration though.  Probably one of those things that they don't know what will be done by that time. (its on the back page with the coaster line up)

So does that mean I won't be able to take a friend to the Schlitterbahn event who isn't attending the preceding convention?

I figured that this is as good a place as any for some quick updates.

Janessa and I attended last night's activities, along with this morning.  The night rides on Powder Keg and Wildfire were unreal.  The g's were turned way up.  It turns out that summer night rides are a lot better than winter night rides.

We also scored an end of the night ride on the American Plunge.  The whole ride was pretty much pitch black and one of the most memorable log rides I've taken.

Like always the food kicked ass.

They had everyone in the Opera House and asked who was a first timer to SDC.  75% probably raised their hands.  I'm guessing that Powder Keg and Wildfire will move up in the rankings later this year.

I would imagine that Prowler will debut rather highly as well -- and Evel Knievel should move up after Saturday

I really liked SDC. I want to come back for Christmas. Powder Keg was fantastic at night.
Excited for WoF tomorrow.

The food is so freaking delicious. It makes up for the heat.

I agree on the Prowler part of your quote but EK is sitting at #15.  I can't image it moving more than 2 or 3 spots.  I think it's likely that it's below Prowler and Terminator at the end of the year.

I can't agree more with you on this.  EK is a very good coaster, but really isn't worthy of a much higher ranking than it's already got.  I actually think that all that fresh riding of Prowler being on the Acers minds might hurt EK more than anything.  Prowler is just in a different class.

I agree, too. I enjoyed EK, but it isn't GCI's best work by any stretch of the imagination.

I think it runs rather sluggish -- might be the maintenance.
Prowler should be rather high -- very excited to see where it ends up.

I am back form the Branson Portion of ACE Coaster Con XXXII. Got through one of the parts I was looking forward to the most (Besides night rides on the big coasters) which was the Fire in the Hole behind the scenes tour. I have been riding this ride for years know the full layout of the ride including the areas that are no longer in use. I even made an Accurate RCT2 recreation of the ride right down to the Water Splash Ending (I used Wood Track as it was the closest looking and had the Water Splash Feature on it.) I even love screaming Fire in the Hole throughout the park as I love that quote so much. (and got alot of people yelling it in the group) I was probably a little to enthusiastic at the event so far, but I was so excited on being there with a bunch of my friends and the fact the E in ACE stands for Enthusiasts.

Anyway for those who didn't get to attend the Fire in the Hole tour I made a video of it and posted it to YouTube for your viewing pleasure. (And yes I was very excited about being in there and also did the Ned Flanders Quotes from the ride)

So after Prowler ERT, I think I can safely say that Prowler is easily going to go way up on coaster polls. Here are some of the comments I heard from first-timers:
-"You know, there is just nothing wrong with that ride."
-"Wow, it just never slows down!"
-"That thing does not let up at all."
and (my favorite):
"That is easily the best GCI I've ever ridden. Sorry, Thunderhead."

Wooo! We win!

I heard a lot of great reviews as well.  "This thing never let's up" was heard several times.

The morning Patriot ERT was pretty awesome too.  The front row has become my fav.  I love how you get thrown forward in the immelman.

I'm looking forward to some water slidin' tonight.

Patriot ERT was great too, yeah. Toward the end, there was no one in line for the back row and I got eight or nine rides back there without getting off.

The OoF portion was better than I thought it would be.  The food was spectacular and every bit as good as an SDC meal.

Splashing around in the park was a great way to cool down and wait for the night ERT.  Another great party night.  Milkshakes and 3 point challenge added to the excitement.

My highlights from the week would have to be Prowler, Patriot, Powder Keg and the roasted pig.  If it starts with a "P" it's on the list.

I actually went back to the park after I ate. Even with all the people there, Prowler only had a ten-minute wait. I got on it six or seven times before closing.

Well after reading all these good reviews on ERT im pysched for Coaster Mayhem. It'll be my first ERT event and what better way to spend it then on Patriot and Prowler. Odds are I'll be riding those two, Mamba and Timber Wolf a lot that day!
