This year's Howl-O-Scream was themed to fashion with the slogan “Evil Never Goes Out Of Fashion.” The event was fantastic this year as almost every house stepped up to the plate and got some great scares going through the entire house. I just thought this year was incredibly good. The shows, and the houses just did wonders this year. I wanted to make a note that I saw the FIENDS show this year and that it is very good and extremely funny. If you get the chance to go to the event, hit the show for sure when you're not going through a haunted house. Speaking of the houses it’s time to get to the reviews.

Taste of Blood – The layout for this house has always been good. It’s always been a good layout with plenty of good scare spots. The scares were there this year though and that’s for sure. I sadly missed a few good scares because of timing, but there were some scares that really made up for that! The classic drop window scare is still my favorite and is used in the house very well. The subway atmosphere is pulled off well and was very creepy in a way. But in the end I give Taste of Blood a 3.5 pushing a 4 this year.

Death Row Vengeance – All I can say is wow! This house stepped up majorly from last year. I got scared good last year but not nearly as good as this year. The scares were everywhere in the house and my group was getting scared very good. I love the layout of the house and the jail atmosphere that is kept through the entire house. I just had a fantastic time in the house this year and really noticed a step up from the crew in Vengeance. The timing for the scares was good this time to. With that said Death Row earns a 5 out of 5 easily for showing a huge performance this year.

Nightshade Toy Factory – I was heavily impressed with the new house. I was wondering how the toy theme was going to be pulled off and it was pulled off very well. I’m starting to like these toy themed houses a lot because they are so fun to be in for some reason. I think it’s because they set up for some insanely good scares and they always are fun and cool to go through. I got scared a lot throughout the house and I loved it. The ending was pretty good but the house was scaring left and right which gave Nightshade a 4.5 out of 5 pushing a 5.

Reconstruction: The Doctor Is In – I was really looking forward to this house and glad I got to go through it. I missed the scares due to timing again but still had an awesome time because the house is just so fun to go through. The beginning of the house does not disappoint which I liked because like last year I got scared good right away. It stayed like this for a while. Even though I missed some scares, whenever I did get a scare it was a good one. The atmosphere of the house is something I wanted to mention to, it was pulled off very well once again. The creepiness factor was there that’s for sure! It was a great house this year and pulled a 4 out of 5 this year.

Trapped in the Walls – I loved this house last year. It’s always so fun to go through because there is so many good scares to see and experience. I got scared very good this year. The layout is always fun for this house and I was extremely impressed with the house this year. The atmosphere was great and the scenes were good as well as the scares were to. With everything said, Trapped in the Walls scored a 4 out of 5.

13 – The motorcycle gang house is always a good one. The first year was pretty good but last year was insanely good for this house. I got cornered by a chainsaw last year and the chainsaw scares have always been good in this house, especially this year. My group and I was hitting the scares left and right. I caught a few very good scares in this house to. The layout is always fun for 13 and I like a house with a fun, good layout like 13 had. It was just a fun time in 13 this year. That’s why I’m giving 13 a 4 out of 5 this year.

Delta Epsilon Delta: Pledge Week – Best house of the night without a doubt! This house had an entrance façade which looked very cool and had a fun, yet creepy college atmosphere though the entire house. I loved this house plain and simple. It’s probably my favorite house in all the houses I’ve been through at Howl-O-Scream it was that good. The crew stepped up to the plate and delivered some great scares. The scares and scenes were just phenomenal. The ending was good and like I’ve said numerous times makes a good house but the house itself is just great. I can’t stress enough how good the house was. That’s why I’m giving this house a 5 out of 5 hands down, no questions asked!
